The first ever No Guts No Glory Live Draw
Saturday 26th March
This week we held the first ever NGNG Live Draw, all in aid of Exeter Leukaemia fund. Lauren Gow and Philip Harris each had just over Three Hours to create A2 pieces to auction off for the cause.
Here's how they did...

Looks like Denim Shirts are in fashion this year huh? Lauren Gow and Philip Harris begin their masterpieces outside the No Guts No Glory Shop at 5PM

5:30pm. Both artists have decided to create portraits, and to sketch them in pencil to make sure they don't make big mistakes!

6:00pm and 6:30 pm. Lauren moved onto Chalks and Charcoals, while Phil opts for Dip Pens & Ink and watercolour.

Both images really spring to life now and the atmosphere is great! Live Music, Beer, and a nice crowd forming to encourage Lauren and Phil!

7:00pm and 8:00pm. As we move into the last half an hour the tension really starts to build! Lauren still has her entire back round to finish and phil needs to get started on the anchor that will complete his image!

8:28pm. Lauren has somehow managed to finish her back round and finds time to touch up the eyes and really bring them to life.

8:30pm. STOP DRAWING! wow, a huge round of applause and a huge sigh of relief as Lauren and Phil show off their finished pieces!
Phil and Lauren helped us to raise a total of over £1000 for the Exeter Leukemia Fund, along with an amazing Indoor Village Fete that No Guts No Glory helped to organise with a core of other great local independent businesses and traders!
Philip Harris is a South West based illustrator who works mostly with Dip Pens and Inks, creating hand drawn works that can often take up to a week to finish due to his attention to detail! His clients include bands such as Murder By Death and Idiom, as well as Plymouth City Council and Shred Publishing.
Lauren Gow is a tattoo artist, currently working at Tanner's Yard Tattoo Studio in Crediton, Devon. She's well-know through out these parts for her amazing ability to create custom artwork, and to pack in massive amounts of detail into her tattoos. As well as designing tee's for No Guts No Glory, she also applies her skills to various other t-shirt commissions, canvasses, and wall murals. Her blog is in the making, for now though, you can see some of her older work here or email her at laurengow_tattoo@hotmail.co.uk.
Thanks so much to everyone who got involved, came to show support and helped to make the event such a success - proving that community spirit in Exeter City is still very much alive!
