RUMLAD ZINES AT NO GUTS NO GLORY!
Monday 28th November
Illustrator Steve Larder recently sent us a bundle of his Rumlad Zines! Depicting stories of various band tours and trips to Europe and America, the zines give an insightful account of Steve’s travels, thoughts and humourous happenings along the way!

Rumlad Issue 5 contains no less than 50 pages, A5 in size and crammed full with detailed illustrations and stories of Moloch’s (the band Steve Plays Guitar in) month long US tour in 2010. Along with friends , Thou, they played 30 gigs in 24 days and enjoyed many adventures and much partying along the way!

Rumlad Issue 4 is also A5 size and a slightly smaller 38 pages, although it is also packed full with Steve’s Illustrations and stories. In this issue Steve visits the Mulheim Zine Festival in Germany, picnics with punks, and gives an account of the bands that enter his head along the way. It also includes an interview with the author of Gadgie Zine.

Rumlad: The Stories Issue is inspired by the Georgia Rambler (a column written by a chap named Charles Salter for the Atlanta Journal in the 70’s). Containing 13 contributions by people who each tell a short story about themselves, this zine is full of brief insights into the day-to-day life’s of others – all of which bring about a little smile! 14 pages, A5 in size.

Three Days Of My Life I Will Never Get Back is an 18-page A6 sized zine that documents 2763 miles that Steve travelled a Greyhound Bus. The title kind of sums up Steve’s experience, although he did get to meet tome interesting folk along the way!

Rum-Muffel is a collaborative zine between Steve Larder and Morgen Muffel, a prolific maker of zines/comics from Brighton. The two of them adventure to the Scottish Highlands, where they find that they are most unprepared for the extreme weather, but have was seems like an awesome time all the same! Roughly A5 in size and containing 20 pages with each of them telling parts of the story on alternating pages.
These zines have made for great tea-break reading in the shop! If you’d like to add to our zine collection, or find out any thing more about the zines we currently stock feel free to email me at info@ngngdesign.com.
