No Guts No Glory

Ahoy sailor!

The guys at Exeter University Sailing Club popped in to the shop and asked if No Guts No Glory would like to help them out with some T-shirt designs. Of course we would, and Lauren Gow was the perfect artist for the job.

Lauren has been tattooing up at INK in Exeter for over a year now, and her grey shade work has built her a huge and ever growing customer base. The amount of detail she can pack into the smallest of tattoos is incredible! She is currently in the process in developing her finness for portrait tattoos.

The Exeter University Sailing Club brief was for a bold and simple design that included a Firefly boat and the initials of the club. Waves and an anchor were also ideas that we had floating (no pun intended) around. As the design is intended to represent the club and be visually recognisable, almost like a logo, it was key to keep it as bold and simple as possible. Keeping a hand drawn look to the piece would also be good, adding to the tattoo-like theme and simplicity of the image. The guys loved the designs, I'm sure you will see the tees being worn out and about the streets and bars of Exeter soon!






Lauren is also working on a few new tee designs for No Guts No Glory, they are looking awesome and will be revealed very soon!
