No Guts No Glory

The D.I.Y Times is released!

Over the last few months No Guts No Glory and our friends at Get A Grip have been compiling a Zine called The D.I.Y times, it's all about people who take a Do It Yourself attitude to things. Today the handprinted covers arrived from GAG, meaning that I can now crack on with that usual folding, stapling and trimming process.


Although we are based around 170 miles apart and had never met, No Guts No Glory and Get A Grip happen to have many mutual friends, and both know a lot of like minded people who share a D.I.Y attitude in the sense of devoting as much time as possible, either as a job, or outside of work, doing something that they feel passionately about.

After introducing each other to a load of new blogs, bands, collectives and artists, we came up with the idea of creating our own Zine, 'The D.I.Y Times'. The Zine will be all about sharing our experiences as well as the experiences of other small self-employed business', bands, artists, people who spend their money and time putting on shows and events in their local areas etc. Myself and Kay think its really important that people continue do to things that they are passionate about, not for profit, but simply because they enjoy doing it.

Here's a sneaky peek at the zine, a 16 page bargain with a screen printed cover designed by the lovely Alex Curtis, featuring interviews with the lady herself, Ammo Magazine, Southsea DIY, Sauna Youth, and loads more by the likes of Rory Matthews (Some Sort of Threat) and Ben Treloar (of Brothers & Smoke 'Em Out).
